How much do wedding flowers cost?
This is one of the most common questions I get asked and rightly so. There’s no set answer either as when it comes to booking your Wedding Florist as opposed to your Photographer or Hair and Makeup there are no fixed prices or hourly rate, its up to you. Allocating a proportion of your overall budget is a good place to start. How important are flowers to you? Will they transform your venue or marquee? Investment level can vary from 10 – 20% of your overall budget.
When it comes to the cost of your wedding flowers there are a number of factors to consider. Firstly, the number of guests. If you are having 120 guests and 6 bridesmaids, that’s a lot more tables to decorate and bouquets to make than a guest list of 70 and only your sister as your Maid of Honour. Flower choice, lots of expensive blooms like Peonies, Garden Roses and Delphinium will increase the cost of an arrangement or bouquet. Labour costs… the larger the designs and the more arrangements you have, the labour cost will increase, as I’ll need more Florists on my team to make and install the different designs.
To help here are three different levels of investment and an example of what this could look like on your wedding day, based on a 2026 wedding for 100 guests at a local wedding venue such as Millbridge Court or Botley Hill Barn.
£2500 - £3500 – Personal flowers for the wedding party, ceremony flowers such as urn arrangements on pedestals or a fireplace display, pew ends, low table arrangements or bud vases on longer trestle tables, candles, labour and delivery.
£3500 - £4500 – Personal flowers for the wedding party, a larger ceremony display, aisle meadows, welcome sign display, low table arrangements, candles, labour and delivery.
£4,500 - £5500 - All of the above but with the potential to add in tall table centrepieces, flowers for the entrance or a doorway, additional pedestal displays or a large top table display.
Flowers for a church and marquee wedding…. If you’re having a church ceremony followed by a marquee reception, your flowers may need to work across two locations. In this case, I’d suggest allowing approximately £4,000 upwards, depending on the number and scale of the arrangements you’re planning.
When it comes to your flowers, there are numerous ways to allocate your budget . Work out a list of priorities, what are your non-negotiables (like an arch) and what things are further down the list (nice to have but not essential) and then talk to your Florist about how you can make the most of your budget.
